The Fed Has Decided:
They'll Taper in January 2014

It came as a surprise to many analysts: the Fed has decided to taper quantitative easing starting with January 2014.

According to the new policy, QE will be reduced by 10 billion dollars a month, resulting in a total of 75 billion.

The Fed believes the US economy's indicators are showing improvement, therefore trimming the monetary easing was necessary.

Provided that the indicators continue to show good results, the Fed is determined to continue shrinking the monthly QE rounds during 2014.

Interest rates have remained unchanged, 0.25 %.
