Investment Silver Coins

The silver bullion bar selection is wide enough.

We'll be sharing several tips, ideas, let you know what to be on the lookout for, otherwise you'll see a tremendous variety of products and will probably find hard to choose.

Among the major producers of bullion bars and the major types of bullion bars, you will find the names: Johnson Matthey (their bars are among the most expensive ones, very high price above spot), UBS, Umicore (high prices with the Belgian Umicore too), Valcambi, Heimerle & Meule, Credit Suisse, Pamp Suisse, Metalor.

Some bars are stackable, meaning that you can easily place one on top of the other in a way that they grab into each other's shape. Stackable silver bars are a good idea to buy - you can place brick by brick on top and they won't slip or fall easily.

How about dimensions, weight?

You will find even small, single ounce silver bars. Not worth paying for such merchandise, unless you'd buy for pleasure, not investment. Tiny bar, costs per ounce are high. Consider investment coins instead.

Other small sizes include 100 g bars. Popular with UBS, Umicore and many other companies. Also, not very economic. The price per gram will be too high.

In case of silver, it's best buying large or medium amounts.

10 oz bars, 500 g bars and up are ideal. But prices vary by manufacturer and seller. Compare prices of silver bars and choose the one closest to the spot price.

Keep in mind the fact that the smaller you buy, the more expensive it will be.
